National and International Standards: Standardization and Calibration

Abstract

This article provides a brief introduction to standardization and calibration of acoustic stimuli and explains why standards exist and why we calibrate. A brief history of standardization is provided, and the process and procedures for developing international and national standards are described in some detail.
