Die Fragestellung zur operativen Entfernung eines Primarius beim primär metastasierten Mammakarzinom war bis dato nur in retrospektiven Analysen untersucht. Auf dem letzten Breast Cancer Symposium in San Antonio (10-14.12.2013) wurde eine Reihe der neuen Arbeiten zu diesem wenig erforschten Krankheitsbild vorgestellt.
