Antidepressiva sind wahre Boom-Produkte: Seit 1995 haben sich die Verordnungszahlen mehr als vervierfacht. Zugleich jedoch wurde wiederholt die Wirksamkeit dieser Substanzgruppe bezweifelt. In diesem Spannungsfeld bewegt sich auch die Antidepressiva-Gabe parallel zu einer Psychotherapie. Der genaue Blick zeigt: Es kommt weniger auf die Auswahl eines bestimmten Antidepressivums an, als auf konsequente, wissenschaftlich basierte Konzepte.
