Zusammenfassung

Langzeitbeatmeten Patienten fällt es oft besonders schwer, wieder ohne Beatmungsgerät auszukommen. Dieser Weaningprozess muss an die jeweilige Situation des Patienten individuell angepasst werden. Das legt nahe, diese Aufgabe in die Hände von Intensivpflegenden zu legen, denn niemand ist so nah an einem zu beatmenden Patienten und verbringt so viel Zeit mit ihm, wie die Pflegekräfte auf einer Intensivstation. Christoph Ley hat verschiedene Studien zu diesem Thema zusammengetragen.
