Background

Vitreomacular traction syndrome and Peyronie’s disease represent yet two unrelated conditions that are are both associated with differentiation of fibroblasts to myofibroblasts secondary to an elevation of cytokine levels, particularly TGF-β1.

In the present case, we describe the putative association of vitreomacular traction syndrome with Peyronie’s disease, in which contraction of penile connective tissue is observed.
