ABSTRACT

We report a clinically, radiographically, and pathologically definite case of a giant cell tumor (GCT) of bone arising in the tibial tuberosity. To our knowledge, this represents the first reported case of a GCT of bone in this location. Due to involvement of the patellar ligament, the defect was not filled with methylmethacrylate; instead, bone grafting was performed to promote healing. GCT needs to be considered in the differential diagnosis of a lytic lesion of the tibial tuberosity.
