Significance

The authors developed a highly practical and effective catalyst system for the asymmetric hydrosilylation of ketones. Employing copper(II)-dipyridylphosphine catalyst and PMHS (polymethylhydrosiloxane), which is an inexpensive, non-toxic, and air-stable hydride source, gave the desired products in good yield and enantioselectivity under mild conditions.
