Significance

Chiral magnesium-VAPOL phosphate salt was successfully employed as a catalyst for the asymmetric aza-Darzens reaction through the addition of α-chloro-1,3-dicarbonyl compounds. The corresponding aziridines are obtained with good yields and enantioselectivities.
