Significance

Stoichiometric and catalytic flow oxidation systems using polymer monolith-supported N-(tert-butyl)phenylsulfinimidoyl chloride M1 were developed. The flow oxidation of alcohols through the column containing a polystyrene-based monolith M1 afforded the corresponding carbonyl compounds during which M1 was reduced to N-(tert-butyl)phenylsulfenamide monolith M3. Monolith M1 was regenerated from M3 by passage of a solution of t-BuNCl2 or NCS through the column.
