Significance
A new direct C-H alkylation of various heterocycles using potassium alkyl- and alkoxymethyltrifluoroborates is described. The highest yields were obtained with Mn(OAc)3 as oxidant in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid in a 1:1 mixture of acetic acid and water.
