Significance

It remains a great challenge to install two stereocenters by palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation (Pd-AAA). The authors report that acylsilanes can engage in highly regio- and stereoselective reactions with allyl carbonates under Pd-AAA. The authors go on to demonstrate the power of this methodology in the synthesis of two interesting targets.
