Significance

Photocatalytic aerobic oxidation of alcohols was efficiently performed on H+/SiO2/TiO2. H+/SiO2/TiO2 was prepared by treatment of SiO2/TiO2 with a Brønsted acid, which exhibited good catalytic performance for the oxidation of alcohols to give the corresponding aldehydes or ketones (5 examples, 85-100% conversion, 87-100% selectivity).
