Significance

Polyfluorophenylboronic and five-membered 2-heteroaromatic boronic acids are known to quickly deboronate under basic conditions and are therefore challenging substrates for the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling. Herein, a novel palladium catalyst is reported, which enables the coupling of such unstable boronic acids to a wide range of (hetero)aryl chlorides, bromides, and triflates in short reaction times and excellent yields.
