Significance

In order to perform highly efficient asymmetric hydrogenation on some difficult substrates, such as trisubstituted olefins, the authors designed and synthesized a series of chiral pyridyl phosphinite ligands that facilitate unprecedented iridium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of these substrates.
