Significance

Ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer microcapillary flow discs (MFDs) containing nineteen capillaries were developed, where the wall surface of the microcapillaries was coated with palladium nanoparticles. Transfer hydrogenation of various unsaturated functional groups (e.g., C=C, C=O, C=N, etc.) was carried out using the palladium-coated multi-channel flow microreactor with Et3SiH at room temperature for 30 minutes (flow rate: 0.1 mL/min substrate) to give the corresponding products in 75-96% yield.
