Significance

Cylindrocyclophane F was isolated in 1992 from the algae Cylindrospermum licheniforme Kützing (ATTC 29204). The cylindrocyclophanes contain an intriguing [7.7]paracyclophane motif and have been shown to exhibit potent cytotoxicity against the KB and LoVo tumor cell lines.
