Zusammenfassung
Hintergrund: Die therapeutischen Gesundheitsfachberufe befinden sich im Wandel. Akademisierung, neue Berufsfelder, Erstzugang (Direct access) sind aktuelle Themen in der Berufspolitik der therapeutischen Gesundheitsberufe. Es ist wenig darüber bekannt, was die in den Berufen Arbeitenden darüber denken.
Ziel: Das Ziel der berufspolitisch unabhängigen Arbeitsgruppe Physio- und Ergotherapeuten im Beruf ist, mittels einer deutschlandweiten Befragung eine Standortbestimmung für die beiden größten Gruppen der therapeutischen Gesundheitsfachberufe – Physio- und Ergotherapeuten – durchzuführen.
Methode: Die Arbeitsgruppe entwickelte den hypothesenbasierten Fragebogen. Nach einem Pretest fand die Querschnitterhebung bei in Deutschland tätigen Physio- und Ergotherapeuten in der Zeit von Mai bis Dezember 2008 statt.
Ergebnisse: 3506 Fragebögen wurden ausgewertet, davon 1273 von Ergotherapeuten und 2233 von Physiotherapeuten. Dieser Artikel stellt die Gruppe der befragten Therapeuten vor und analysiert sie.
Es folgen Beiträge zu den Themen Berufsalltag der Therapeuten, Kooperation und Konkurrenz, Zufriedenheit im Beruf, Zukunft der Physiotherapie und Ergotherapie und Veränderungsbedarf .
Schlussfolgerung: Durch die Veröffentlichung der Ergebnisse kann die Meinung der befragten Therapeuten in die von Politik und Berufsverbänden geführte Diskussion einfließen.
Abstract
Background: The therapeutic health care professions are in flux. Academisation, new occupational areas and direct access are current occupational policy issues of therapeutic health care professionals. Little is known about the thoughts of people working in health care professions.
Objective: The aim of the independent study group physiotherapists and occupational therapists at work ’ is to analyse the current situation of the 2 largest groups of therapeutic health care professionals – physiotherapists and occupational therapists – by means of a Germany-wide survey.
Method: The study group developed the hypotheses-based questionnaire. Following a pre-test, the cross-sectional survey was performed among in Germany working physiotherapists and occupational therapists from May until December 2008.
Results: 3506 questionnaires were evaluated, 1273 of occupational therapists and 2233 of physiotherapists. This article presents and analyses the questioned therapist group. Articles on therapists’ professional routine, cooperation and competition, professional satisfaction, future of physiotherapy and occupational therapy and need for change will follow.
Conclusion: Through publication of the results the questioned therapists’ opinion can contribute to the politics’ and professional organizations’ discussion.
