Abstract

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMT) are a rare entity. Localization in the stomach is extremely seldom and almost exclusively seen in children. Invasive growth of IMT may lead to irresectability or recurrence. In an 8-month-old girl presented with repetitive vomiting for several days. Complete surgical resection of a gastric IMT was possible.

Zusammenfassung

Inflammatorische myofibroblastäre Tumoren (IMT) des Magens werden fast ausschließlich bei Kindern gesehen. Infolge invasiven Wachstums kann es zu nicht-resektablen Tumoren bzw. schwierig zu behandelnden Rezidiven kommen. Bei einem 8 Monate alten Mädchen mit Erbrechen und Raumforderung am Magenausgang war eine Billroth-I-Resektion mit partieller Omentektomie kurativ.
