A Mild and Efficient Method for the Reduction of Nitriles

Significance
A simple and useful method for the reduction of nitriles into the corresponding amines is reported using tetramethyldisiloxane and titanium isopropoxide as reducing system. The primary amines are obtained as hydrochlorides and can be isolated in almost quantitative yield.
