Significance

Extending upon previous work the authors report the development of iridium catalysts for the asymmetric isomerization of allylic alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes (L. Mantilli, C. Mazet Tetrahedron Lett. 2009, 50, 4141). Examples of highly active and selective catalysts for such transformations are rare.
