Abstract
EEG-findings in 2 children with mucolipidosis I are described: Bilateral dysrhythmic
groups with scattered highly frequent spikes and patterns resembling atypical fast
spikes and waves and polyspike wave complexes. The discharges are so irregular and
the spikes of such a high frequency that they can be mistaken for artefacts or muscle
potentials, respectively. This EEG-phenomenon possibly may be pathognomonic for mucolipidosis
I.
Zusammenfassung
EEG-Veränderungen bei 2 Kindern mit Mucolipidose I werden beschrieben: bilaterale
dysrhythmische Gruppen mit eingestreuten hochfrequenten spikes. Die Muster erinnern
z. T. an atypische rasche spikes and waves und polyspike waves. Die Entladungen sind
so unregelmäßig und die spikes so hochfrequent, daß sie mit Artefakten und Muskelpotentialen
verwechselt werden können. Dies EEG-Phänomen ist möglicherweise pathognomonisch für
die Mucolipidose I.
