Significance
A general procedure for the palladium-catalyzed annulation of halo-substituted anilines and benzamides is presented. The scope of the reaction is large and its functional group tolerance is high. The cyclic products are generally afforded in moderate (isoquinolinones) to very good yields (indoles).
