Significance

Ye and co-workers report an enantioselective [4+2] cycloaddition of arylketenes with N-aryl-N -benzoyldiazenes or N,N-dibenzoyldiazenes catalyzed by N-heterocyclic carbenes. The enantioselectivity of the 1,3,4-oxadiazin-6-one 1 could be switched for most reactions by adjusting the substituents on the catalyst.
