Pseudoepitheliomatöse Hyperplasie im Rahmen einer Tätowierung mit rotem Pigment
Pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia in the context of a red ink tattoo
Abstract
With the increasing prevalence of tattoos, the number of associated side effects are also increasing. Pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia is a benign, reactive proliferation associated with hyperplasia of epidermis and adnex epithelium. In a 61-year-old patient, several weeks after an extensive colored tattoo was applied to the left forearm, multiple slowly growing hyperkeratotic plaques occurred within the areas of red pigment. The diagnosis of pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia was successfully made after histological confirmation and cinical-pathological correlation.
