Significance
Amino acids and peptides containing a silicon moiety have obtained attentions in the silicon-containing drug discovery. In this work, the authors have developed modular access to silicon-containing amino acids and peptides by cobalt catalysis.

Comment
Cobalt-catalyzed three-component silylamidation gave a range of silicon-containing amino acids and peptides. Also, silylamidation product was transformed to silicon-containing cyclic peptide.
