Alterstraumatologie – worauf kommt es an?

Fragilitätsfrakturen sind mit einer hohen Mortalität und Morbidität verbunden. Aufgrund der hohen Prävalenz von Komorbiditäten und des hohen Komplikationsrisikos ist die Anwendung geriatrischer Prinzipien bei der Behandlung dieser Patienten unerlässlich. In den letzten Jahren hat sich bei der Behandlung von Fragilitätsfrakturen ein Paradigmenwechsel von einer orthopädischen Verletzung hin zu einem orthogeriatrischen Syndrom vollzogen. Dieser Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die orthogeriatrischen Prinzipien der Behandlung von Patienten mit Fragilitätsfrakturen.
