Die Diagnose der „Frozen Shoulder“ erfolgt zwar in erster Linie klinisch, eine Bildgebung kann jedoch bei der Differenzialdiagnose durchaus eine Rolle spielen. Bei schweren Verläufen und wenn die konservative Therapie nicht zufriedenstellend verläuft, stehen verschiedene operative Verfahren zur Verfügung. Egal ob konservative oder operative Therapie: Patient*innen sollten Klarheit über Grund und Prognose der Erkrankung sowie die eigene Rolle bei der Genesung erhalten, um selbstwirksam handeln zu können.
