Das Verständnis von Wundheilung hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten grundlegend verändert,
sodass die gebräuchlichen Definitionen von akuten und chronischen Wunden, aber auch
einer Primär- und Sekundärheilung nicht mehr hilfreich sind. Dieser Beitrag bringt
bekannte Aspekte der Wundheilung so miteinander in Bezug, dass Wunden systematisch
beurteilt, die Ursachen von Wundheilungsstörungen erkannt und strukturierte Therapien
durchgeführt werden können.
Abstract
Physiological healing processes with their separate phases are much better understood
today. Current definitions of acute or chronic healing processes, and primary or secondary
healing, are therefore being superseded. Impaired healing is characterized by a lack
of transition from one phase of healing to the next, which needs medical treatment
like any pathological process. Comprehensive diagnostics, followed by a definition
of the therapeutic goal and structured treatment planning, can deliver an effective
cure. Such a structured process can be followed alongside well-established treatment
requirements. Together with data from a wound register these protocols can form the
basis for the quality management in wound treatment. The goal of up-to-date wound
treatment remains increase the patients’ quality of life to effectively and sustainably.
