Striking Funduscopic Findings in a Patient after Drug-Supported Sexual Activity

Background

It has been described that an exhaustive Valsalva maneuver may lead to ocular pathologies. The Valsalva maneuver can occur, e.g., during sexual activity. Furthermore, sildenafil is one of the most commonly used drugs for management of sexual dysfunction or enhancement of sexual activity. While sildenafil is generally well tolerated, a plethora of rare ocular side effects have been associated with its use.
