Abstract

In many cases, elongated upper molars must be intruded prior to prosthetic rehabilitation of the mandibular molar region. However, this poses a great challenge for the anchorage. This article describes the use of the “mini mousetrap”, which rests on (mini) implants in the anterior palate. In order to make the appliance small and efficient, the intrusion mechanism can also be used without a transpalatal arch. If the line of force is not optimally aligned, however, the teeth to be intruded may tilt without TPA.
