Verspätete gestische Kommunikation als Vorbote von Sprachentwicklungsverzögerungen

Die gestische Kommunikation ist einer der wichtigsten Vorläufer der lautsprachlichen Entwicklung. In dem Beitrag wird ein Überblick über die aktuelle Forschungslage zur Prädiktivität von gestischen Fähigkeiten für spätere sprachliche Fähigkeiten gegeben. Als besonders bedeutsam stellt sich die Nutzung von Pointing-Gesten am Anfang des zweiten Lebensjahrs heraus.

Abstract

Gestural communication is one of the most important precursors for language acquisition. This article provides a review of recent research on the predictive value of gestural competences for later language skills. The communicative use of pointing gestures at the beginning of the second year of life is of utmost importance.
