Significance

Sequential one-pot reactions are powerful strategies as they allow material to be carried through multiple steps without the need for purification. In this report, the authors have succeeded in taking the challenge to another level, that is achieving three individual diastereoselective reactions in one flask. Impressively, from simple starting materials, each sequential step creates a new stereocenter with high stereocontrol of the relative stereochemistry.
