Über einen Fall von bilateraler akuter Netzhautnekrose: Therapie und Verlauf

Zusammenfassung

Bericht über einen Fall von akuter bilateraler Retina-Nekrose. Symptombeginn am 2. Auge 1 Monat nach rascher, nicht beeinflußbarer Erblindung des 1. Auges. Unter Therapie mit Acyclovir und Cortico-steroide höchstdosiert konnte ein rascher Stillstand der Erkrankung am 2. Auge erreicht werden. Die Funktion ist voll erhalten. Serologische Tests sowie Ansprechen auf spezifische Therapie weisen auf eine Herpes simplex Ätiologie hin.

Summary

A case of acute bilateral retinal necrosis is described. After the patient had gone blind in one eye necrotic areas appeared in the retina of the other 1 month later. With systemic Acyclovir (Zovirak) and corticosteroids in maximum doses the symptoms disappeared and full function was regained. The results of serologic tests and the response to specific therapy make a herpes simplex etiology seem very likely.
