Heminephrectomy - Ureterectomy as the Sole Procedure in Ectopic Ureterocele in Children

Abstract

During the years 1976-1981, 12 children with duplex kidneys and ectopic ureterocele were operated upon with heminephrectomy and ureterectomy only. This simple procedure led to cure in 10 out of 12 patients. In two of the patients it later had to be supplemented by resection of the ureterocele and reimplantation of the orthotopic ureter. Such a two-stage procedure does not seem to jeopardise the final result.

Zusammenfassung

In den Jahren 1976 bis 1981 wurden 12 Kinder mit Doppelniere und ektoper Ureterozele operiert, wobei lediglich eine Heminephrektomie und Ureterektomie durchgeführt wurde. Dieses vereinfachte Verfahren führte bei 10 der 12 Patienten zur Ausheilung. Lediglich bei 2 Kindern mußte später eine Resektion der Ureterozele und Reimplantation des orthotopen Ureters durchgeführt werden. Dieses zweizeitige Vorgehen scheint jedoch nicht das endgültige Ergebnis negativ zu beeinflussen.
