ABSTRACT

A case of congenital left-sided diaphragmatic hernia complicated by formation of gastropleural fistula and Candida tropicalis empyema is presented. The possibility of pleural fistula should be considered in any undiagnosed case of pleural effusion, pneu-mothorax, empyema, hemothorax, or hydropneumothorax.
