Significance

Neooxazolomycin is a member of a group of antibiotics that contain the oxazole-polyene-lactam-lactone motifs. Neooxazolomycin exhibits a range of activities including antibiotic, antiviral, and antitumor properties. The present synthesis features an intramolecular Tamao hydrosilylation (A to B) to generate a trisubstituted alkene stereospecifically.
