Significance

A series of pseudopolyrotaxanes 1-(0, 20, 40, 70, 100) were synthesized in order to detect their ability to induce DNA condensation. Compound 3 was synthesized through 2 and 6-[(6-aminohexyl)amino]-6-deoxy-β-cyclodextrin (CD) dichloride reported previously. Then, (0, 20, 40, 70, 100)% cucurbit[6]urils (CB[6]s) (calculated to the modified CD) were added to the aqueous solutions of 3 to form these novel 2D pseudopolyrotaxanes 1.
