Iron-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling Reaction Between Alkenyl Grignard Reagents and Alkyl Halides

Significance

This publication reports the first iron-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions between secondary alkyl halides and alkenyl Grignard reagents. The reaction proceeds stereoselectively retaining the configuration of the double bond. Sensitive functional groups such as ester and nitrile groups are tolerated.
