Die PAIMM ist ein Programm zur Hilfe für Ärzte, die an psychiatrischen Störungen,
Alkohol- oder Drogenabhängigkeit leiden. Ziel der PAIMM ist es, eine gute Berufspraxis
besser gewährleisten zu können: Ärzte mit psychiatrischen Problemen und/oder Suchterkrankungen
zu begleiten, d.h. streng vertraulich spezifische und geeignete spezialisierte Dienste
zu leisten und so weit wie möglich zu gewährleisten, dass die Ärzte in der Lage sind,
ihre Patienten mit aller notwendigen Sicherheit medizinisch zu betreuen.
The Integral Care Program for Sick Physicians (PAIMM in Catalan language and capital
letters) was jointly created in 1998 by the Catalan Medical Association, and the Health
Department of the Generalitat (Autonomous Government of Catalonia). According to the
Professional Body Mission and developing the contents of the Ethics Code for Medical
Practice in order to better assure good professional practice, the PAIMM has two essential
aims: To attend doctors with mental problems and/or addictive behaviours, by means
of specific and appropriate specialised services under conditions of strict confidentiality,
and to assure the citizens, as far as possible, that physicians are capacitated to
practice medicine with all the necessary safeguards.
