Vasco da Gama Movement - die Reise geht weiter

Zusammenfassung

Das Vasco da Gama Movement (VdGM) ist eine berufsgruppenspezifische Repräsentanz des allgemeinmedizinischen Nachwuchses, die sich in einem europäischen Netzwerk zusammengeschlossen hat. Diese Arbeitsgruppe der WONCA Europe (World Organization of Family Doctors) für junge und zukünftige Allgemeinärzte ist aus einem Nachwuchs-Programm des WONCA Europe-Kongresses 2004 in Amsterdam entstanden.

Vom 28.-29.8.2006 fand die dritte Vorkonferenz zu dem Kongress der WONCA Europe in Florenz statt. 42 Teilnehmer aus 20 Ländern kamen zum Austausch von Erfahrungen und Meinungen sowie zur Entwicklung neuer Ideen zusammen. Im Rahmen der Hauptkonferenz beteiligte sich dann das Vasco da Gama Movement mit zwei Workshops. Eine aktive Teilnahme des VdGM an der nächsten Jahreskonferenz von WONCA Europe in Paris ist bereits in Planung. Dann soll auch der sogenannte Europarat zum ersten Mal zusammentreten. Das VdGM wird offiziell von WONCA Europe anerkannt und auch finanziell unterstützt. Informationen zum VdGM finden sich auf den neuen Internetseiten unter www.vdgm.eu.

Dieser Bericht soll vorwiegend aktuelle Entwicklungen innerhalb des Vasco da Gama Movements darstellen. Über die Gründung und Zielsetzung berichteten wir ausführlicher an dieser Stelle[1].

Abstract

Vasco da Gama Movement (VdGM) is the WONCA Europe working group for young and future General Practitioners. The movement is the continuation of the work that was started during the first pre-conference meeting for junior doctors during the WONCA Europe conference in Amsterdam in 2004. The third pre-conference meeting for Junior Doctors in GP/FM took place on the 28th and 29th of August 2006 in Florence - Italy, preceding the 12th WONCA Europe conference. A total of 42 participants from 20 countries participated this year to exchange experiences and opinions. During the main conference VdGM successfully presented two workshops addressing problems and needs of junior doctors. During the WONCA Europe conference in Paris 2007, the VdGM Europe Council will be installed. VdGM is invited to actively participate in the main conference and pleased with the official recognition and support by WONCA Europe. This report focuses on actual developments of VdGM as we reported before about its aims and formation at this place[1].
