Zusammenfassung

Wir stellen den Fall einer 53-jährigen Patientin mit chronischer Blepharitis und Bindehautüberwachsung der Hornhaut vor. Histologisch enthielt die Bindehautüberwachsung Fremdkörpergranulome um Kalkmaterial. Möglicherweise wurde dies durch die Applikation phosphathaltiger Augentropfen und Chemokine wie z. B. TNF-alpha, die bei einer chronischen Blepharitis freigesetzt werden, begünstigt. Wir empfehlen daher bei Patienten mit chronischer Blepharitis die Gabe von phosphatfreien Augentropfen.

Abstract

We present a case of a 53-year-old female patient with chronic blepharitis and conjunctival overgrowth of the cornea. Histologically the conjunctival overgrowth contained foreign body granulomas around calcification focuses. This could have been promoted by the application of phosphate-containing eye drops and the presence of chemokines like TNF-alpha, which occur in chronic blepharitis. Thus, we recommend the application of phosphate-free eye drops in patients with chronic blepharitis.
