Summary

We report on a 37-year old woman with acute myelogenous leukaemia who developed a severe cerebellar syndrome with dysarthria and ataxia during a third chemotherapeutic protocol with i.v. cytosine arabinoside (Alexan®). All symptomes were reversible within 10 afler withrawal days and are explained as a neurotoxic side-effect.

Zusammenfassung

Wir berichten über eine 37jährige Frau mit akuter myeloischer Leukämie, die unter einem dritten Chemotherapiezyklus mit Zytarabin (Alexan®) schwere zerebelläre Symptome mit Dysarthrie und Ataxie entwickelte. Das Syndrom war nach Absetzen innerhalb von 10 Tagen reversibel und wird als neuro-toxische Nebenwirkung interpretiert.
