Significance

A novel Brønsted acid-catalyzed allylboration is reported in the total synthesis of four diastereomers of the lignan Eupomatilone-6. The stereochemistry of the natural product, isolated from Eupomatia bennetti, is confirmed by X-ray crystal structure analysis.
