Zusammenfassung
Kolloidzysten des 3. Ventrikels sind seltene, gutartige intrakranielle Tumoren. Die
häufigsten Beschwerden bestehen in intermittierenden Kopfschmerzen. Daneben gehören
Übelkeit, Erbrechen, intermittierender Schwindel, Verschwommensehen, Ataxie, Somnolenz,
Angst und Nervosität, Gedächtnisdefizite und epileptische Anfälle zu den häufigsten
Symptomen. Im klinischen Alltag wird die Differenzialdiagnose einer Kolloidzyste des
3. Ventrikels bei therapieresistenten Kopfschmerzen wahrscheinlich nicht immer ausreichend
berücksichtigt. Die Diagnose ist von besonderer Bedeutung, da eine Assoziation mit
einem plötzlichen Tod aufgrund intermittierender Liquorflussblockaden besteht. Ein
kritisch erhöhter intrakranieller Druck kann zu Bradykardie, Hypertension und Abnahme
der Atemfrequenz führen (Cushing response). Nach chirurgischer Resektion besteht eine
sehr gute Prognose.
Abstract
Colloid cysts of the third ventricle are rare and benign tumors. The most frequent
reported complaint is intermittent headache. In addition, nausea, vomiting, intermittent
vertigo, blurred vision, ataxia, hypersomnolence, anxiety and nervousness, memory
impairment and seizures are frequent symptoms. In clinical practice the differential
diagnosis of a colloid cyst of the third ventricle is not always adequately taken
into consideration. Because colloid cysts may be associated with sudden death due
to intermittent cerebrospinal fluid obstruction, the diagnosis is of special importance.
Critically raised intracranial pressure can lead to bradycardia, hypertension and
slowing of respiration (Cushing response). Surgical resection leads to complete cure.
