Aktuelles Vorgehen bei der Kataraktoperation von Uveitis-Patienten
Cataract surgery in uveitis patients is more challenging than that in patients without such disease, because uveitis patients have complicated cataract, the incidence of postoperative complications is much higher, and relapses must be avoided. Considerations for successful outcome include patient selection, timing of surgery, careful and meticulous surgical technique, choice of IOL, postoperative medication, and control of postoperative follow-up. To reduce and minimize postoperative complications such as relapse of uveitis, IOP-rise and PCO, it is important to minimize postoperative inflammation. This may be largely dependent on the biocompatibility of the IOL material. This presentation will focus on the choice of IOL from the perspective of its biocompatibility in uveitis patients, along with a review of the relevant literature.
