Die Wahrung von Therapieoptionen mit den engen Zeitfenstergrenzen von wenigen Stunden erfordern eine rasche und zielgesteuerte Versorgung der Patienten. Hier kommt dem erstversorgenden Arzt und Notfallmediziner eine zentrale Bedeutung im Management des Krankheitsbildes zu.

Summary

Acute stroke is an emergency situation. The need to secure therapeutic options, together with the available narrow time window of only a few hours, necessitates rapid and selective patient care. Against this background, the physician providing initial care, or the emergency physician has a central role to play in the proper management of the patient.
