Minimally Invasive Office-Based Procedures

Current cosmetic surgical trends are leaning toward procedures that allow patients to make a quick return to their busy schedules. A new category of treatments, recognized as “lunchtime procedures,” has emerged. Their name stems from the fact that they have a short downtime recovery period-if any at all, they are minimally invasive, and many of these procedures can be performed within minutes in an office setting. For most established facial plastic surgeons, office-based procedures are becoming an increasingly important component of their practice. For the facial plastic surgeon who is just starting up, office-based procedures can be an ideal vehicle for building a cosmetic practice.

Office-based procedures often necessitate repeated treatments, and this can result in a patient who frequents and becomes an advocate for your practice. Those who already have a thriving office-based cosmetic practice may garner pearls in this issue to augment current techniques. For the young or newly emerging facial plastic surgeon, this issue can be used as an introduction to commonly performed office-based procedures. We hope you enjoy reading this issue as much as we had putting it together. Please feel free to contact either one of us if we can provide any further information.
