Introduction

From 01. 01. 2000 to 31. 12. 2000 in the department of trauma surgery of the Klinikum Hannover 36 patients with proximal humerus fracture were treated by intramedullary nailing with Prevot pins. The aim of the study was to investigate if intramedullary stabilisation of this fracture localisation is a suitable procedure in view of minimal invasion, early mobilisation and overall functionality (Fig. [1 a], [b]).
