Summary

Over the past century ambulatory surgery has continued to play an increasingly important role in the practice of surgery. It offers many benefits to both physicians and patients. The field of orthopedic surgery is starting to rely heavily on one day surgery. Surgeons are now able to successfully perform many procedures as same day surgery that in the past have required hospital admission. In this paper we report the scope of outpatient orthopedic trauma surgery at a level I trauma center.
