Glutamin in der Krebstherapie

ZUSAMMENFASSUNG

Glutamin ist die häufigste Aminosäure des Organismus und kommt in allen Geweben in hohen Konzentrationen vor. Im Gegensatz zur Glykolyse findet die Glutaminolyse nur unter aeroben Bedingungen in den Mitochondrien statt. Da Krebszellen ausschließlich Glukose zur Energiegewinnung nutzen und ihre Mitochondrien abgeschaltet bzw. defekt sind, ist eine Glutaminolyse kaum möglich. Die Wirkung von Glutamin auf das Tumorwachstum ist umstritten.
